The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) currently has an Applications Developer III position in Information Technology ServicesAs an Applications Developer III you will: - be responsible for analysis, design, development testing, debugging, documentation and maintenance of, and enhancements to SRS computer application systems, using software development life cycle and industry best practices - work with systems including, but not limited to, KAECSES-CSE, CSE Self Assessment DB/Application, the Top Secret Password Manager and the State Services Portal and its various modules. These systems are written using CA Gen, C#, ASP.NET, COBOL, Natural, SQL and the Microsoft Office Primary Interop Assemblies. - work daily with help desk, business analyst and business partners to provide enhancements and resolve software problems in a timely manner This position: - Is based in Topeka, KS - Earns $50,918.40 annually based on skills, education and/or experience - Has outstanding benefits - Is eligible for Veterans' preference Minimum Requirements:Successful completion of 24 hours in computer science coursework or certification and three years experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs or four years experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agencyPreferred Qualifications: Minimum three to five years work experience at an advanced level in programming, system/program analysis and system/database design. Course work or experience in ADABAS, DB2, CA:Gen (COOL:Gen), Natural, COBOL, OS MVS JCL, CICS, C#, .NET, and work experience in an Information Technology data processing environment. Work experience in one or more of the following: Mainframe CA:Gen (COOL:Gen), C#, .NET, Microsoft office Primary Interop Assemblies. Experience with DB2 or a relational database. Experience supporting batch processes/schedules. Experience at leading other developers in medium to large (>6 months of effort) applications programming, systems analysis and design work efforts.
