Processes requests for information in a timely manner.
Acts as a liaison with answering questions regarding releasing information.
Ensures that state and federal laws are followed in the release of any client information.
Closes cases in a timely manner in the electronic database for tracking records for the agency.
Performs audits of the electronic health records.
Reports to the Director of Clinical Information Management.
Associate degree in Health Information Management or Medical Records Administration
RHIA or RHIT preferred
Current licensure by A.H.I.M.A. as an Accredited Record Technician preferred or Equivalent Medical Records Experience.
Previous experience with release of information regulations and laws required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently required. Problem solving skills necessary.
Previous experience in auditing medical records for completeness required.
Customer service skills necessary for interacting with business, administrative, clinical staff, clients, courts, attorneys, and other outside parties required.
Computer and office equipment skills preferred.
Ability to maintain and increase knowledge of professional issues that affect the HIM industry and healthcare
