Qualifications: Must have completed high school and trade, apprenticeship, military or industrial school in welding, metallurgy or Hull Technician. Must be highly motivated self starter and be able to follow safety regulations in work areas. Duties will include shipboard and shop floor work with basic hand tools, tack welding, and grinding. Must have technical experience within a fabrication facility. Must have experience in reading technical drawings, estimating, planning cut lists, metalworking, welding, shipboard and installation work packages. Must be capable of executing welds in all positions with all types of metals (aluminum and steel) and alloys in various shapes, including pipes, structural forms, plates, sheet metal, and bar stock. Must qualify IAW NAVSEA processes for both Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Silver Braze qualified at a minimum. Must have knowledge of the proper use of shop installation tools and procedures.
Qualifications
Special Qualifications: Steel toe shoes and safety glasses
must
be worn. Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance. Position is full time with some overtime and travel both CONUS / OCONUS may be required.
