POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, depending on service area. The therapist meets productivity standards and satisfactorily completes and maintains all required documentation.
The therapist maintains a “Patient First” orientation and meets MVH customer service standards. The incumbent serves as a flexible member of both disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams, including assisting others as needed and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the department.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech Pathology Program.
Licensure: Must possess a valid license to practice Speech Pathology issued by the State of Ohio.
DIMENSION/SCOPE

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
o Strength: Ability to push 90-pound sweeper and crash cart, lift and carry 50 pounds, push up to 300 pound patient in wheelchair/cart.
o Stooping/bending: Of the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
o Reaching: Extending hands or arms in any direction.
o Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with hand. Fingers are involved to the extent that they are an extension of the hand, such as to turn a switch.
o Fingering: Picking, pinching or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the hand or arm as in holding.
o Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas, by means of spoken words to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, quickly and in the English language.
o Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds by hearing.
o Vision:Clarity of vision with adaptive devices, if necessary.
