Under the supervision of the Student Activities Coordinator, works closely to assist in the development, organization, facilitation, supervising of student volunteers and overall evaluation of the new student orientation program for all 320+ incoming seventh graders. Facilitator will work with supervisor to develop a program to enable students to gain an understanding of KS and KMS academic and behavioral expectations, promote peer bonding through interactive educational activities and work with students to develop servant leadership qualities. Supervise, monitor, and train Student Orientation Leaders and Volunteers.

Position Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a 7th or 8th grade Kapalama Teacher or Administrator. Good interpersonal skills to interact positively with students and staff members and work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge and undertanding of the development and behavior of middle school aged children. Ability to organize and manage tasks and time efficienty with minimal supervision. Ability to tutor individuals and small groups of students under teacher's supervision. Ability to adapt and to work flexibly to meet teacher, team and program needs, which may include flexible work hours. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of curriculum and instruction for middle level education. Previous work experience with adolescents of middle aged students. Knowledge of KS organization, operations and programs. Knowledge and ability to use word processing program, multi-media - iweb, imovie, powerpoint, podcast, etc . -, LCD projector, etc.
