PSA Healthcare PPEC is currently seeking an energetic, detail-orientated individual to join our team in West Palm Beach as an EMT/Center Assistant. As an EMT you will escort children in a non-emergent transport situation in a safe and secure manner. As an Assistant you will provide care and maintain a stimulating learning environment for all children that allows them to make physical, cognitive, linguistic, social and emotional gains as they are able. There is no travel, weekends, holidays or on-call required for this position. Responsibilities: Assuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are transported with the child Demonstrating basic medical procedures that may be required during transportation route such as suctioning, vitals, trach replacement Being alert to safety and well-being of children throughout the day Assisting with meal preparation and feeding (PO and tube) Assisting in preparation with the weekly lesson plan Attending workshops and meetings to stay professionally current and meet state requirements Respecting the rights of children and parents to confidentiality, while conforming to law if signs of suspected abuse or neglect appear Assisting in maintenance of classroom, cleanliness of equipment, linen checks, and laundry duties Maintaining required paperwork in an organized, legible fashion Interacting with children in a loving, positive and consistent manner Identifiing emergent medical situation and responds accordingly We offer the following benefits package

Current EMT licensure in state of Florida Current CPR Verifiable experience working with young children for at least 1 year Current CDA (Child Development Associate) certificate preferred Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting and repositioning of patients Repeated or prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, twisting and occasional climbing of stairs Acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of touch, smell and taste Agility and strength sufficient to handle patients and equipment without assistance Must be able to appropriately respond physically and psychologically to emergency situations in the home or during transport
