Manages central pharmacy based clinical and drug distribution services in order to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care services; accountable for staff, services provided, and level of performance within the pharmacy; accountable for managing operations within budget; manages medication safety issues throughout the pharmacy and hospital; ensures compliance with various medication regulatory requirements; serves as the liaison to the medical staff for medication management issues and P&T committee responsibilities.
Minimum Education, Licensure, Certification and Experience Required.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.
Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy.
Special Skills/Aptitudes :
Proficient in PC computer operation. Demonstrates knowledge of the pharmaceutical care process based on the needs of the patients of all ages groups. Demonstrates the ability to use critical thinking skills to identify problems and opportunities for improvement. Able to interact with others using good customer service skills. Uses excellent and timely communication skills, both verbal and written. Evidence of leadership in pharmacy practice.
Preferred Education, Licensure, Certification and Experience Required.
Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency in pharmacy administration, 2 years previous management experience in a hospital pharmacy or an advanced degree (MS, MHA, MBA, etc.).
