Applies statistical and technical skills in the design of research studies. Collects and analyzes statistical data. Evaluates research studies and recommends statistical procedures. Performs statistical analyzes for a broad spectrum of data and studies. Performs programming to update system, services and reports on existing production databases. Performs statistical programming, reviews databases, handles quality assurance, provides program verification, and supports verification of statistical results. Makes recommendations regarding equipment and software.

(Annual Salary Range: $45,198 - $58,760 -$72,321)

Ideal canidate will possess statistical and technical skills in the design of research studies. Collects and analyzes statistical data. Evaluates research studies and recommends statistical procedures. Performs statistical analyzes for a broad spectrum of data and studies. Performs programming to update system, services and reports on existing production databases. Performs statistical programming, reviews databases, handles quality assurance, provides program verification, and supports verification of statistical results. Makes recommendations regarding equipment and software. Uses a wide range of statistical methodologies including chi-square test, student test, analysis of variance, generalized linear models, fixed, random and mixed models, nonparametric methods for various epidemiological and clinical outcomes. Conducts analysis of data with repeated measures, correlated clustered outcomes and time-to-event studies using Kaplan-Meier estimate, cox proportional hazards or parametric survival functions. Perform statistical power and sample size estimation for proposed research studies. Uses multiple statistical programming languages such as SAS, SPSS and macros for data manipulation, transposition, calculation, merging and updating. Many of the projects have multiple separate data files which have to be combined before querying variables needed for analyzes. Working with longitudinal data of HIV cohorts in SAS with multiple follow-up observations per person using complex procedures such as arrays, special functions and PROC SQL. Manage and maintain extremely large data files generated by high throughput genomic technologies including Affymetrix and Illumina arrays and merge database from various platforms and sources.
