Develop and Implements Products, and Procedures for Aerospace Composites Manufacturing
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Designs, develops and implements processes for manufacturing, which include labor, equipment, inventory management, quality, and on time delivery (from concept to production)
Develops, evaluates, and implements manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Confers with Manufacturing, Operations and other Engineering staff concerning product/process design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Leads analysis of equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization
Maximizes efficiency through Lean Manufacturing concepts
Ensures workplace safety throughout the facility
Presents formal and timely communications to upper management and customers
Must be able to understand and develop engineering drawings, schematics, maintenance manuals and other specifications to determine feasibility
Supports improvement teams in the definition, evaluation, and implementation of improvement projects
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
Works directly with the customer during design development phases
Demonstrated background in working with Thermoset and Thermoplastic Composites
Specific knowledge and working experience with polymers and composite resin systems
Excellent organizational skills in the areas of project management, time management, and work prioritization
Excellent leadership skills including written and verbal communication, self motivation, conflict resolution and team building skills in order to work, and lead within development, and manufacturing teams
Strong bias for action, and achieving results
Strong organized problem solving skills utilizing statistical, and analytical methodology
Practices based on engineering, and scientific fundamentals
Open and willingness to work in a continually changing environment
Willingness and ability to act as a change agent within the company to help drive growth
Must have 4 -7 years of related education and/or experience with proven successful completion of prior projects including a proven track record of working with and leading multifunctional groups
Microscopy and analytical lab experience preferred
CAD training, CATIA V5 preferred
Requires approvals on process or tooling changes
Assist with the training of lower level Engineers or Technicians
Education Qualifications
BS or MS in Mechanical, Composites, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science only ABET Accreditation Required. Trael will be required.
