Position Summary:

This position will provide regional customer service for special event participants for Convio and participant center needs. This position will be providing support for Walk MS, Bike MS, and Challenge Walk MS in seven chapters in the Upper Midwest Region.

Essential Function/Responsibility

1. Provide customer service to event participants in the areas of event information and Convio navigation.

Foster relationships by providing excellent customer service to all special event participants.

Develop a full understanding of the functions of Altair and Convio to provide solutions to participants

Resolve problems related to on-line fundraising.

Keep current on all event details by utilizing event fact sheets and event web sites.

Build relationships with regional chapter staff and stay on top of event details.

Communicate duties and responsibilities to the appropriate staff to effectively manage progress to ensure success.

Check in and provide feedback on the status of the work load.

2. Other duties as apparent or assigned

Attend and participate in relevant meetings.

Work with programs to cross promote events and programs

Assist with other areas as needed

Becomes familiar with available resources for persons with MS and their families and refers people with questions or those needing assistance to Chapter Client services staff.

Serves as a good steward of all chapter resources – time, money, equipment and materials.

Flexible and able to work on an array of different administrative jobs as they arise in the department.

A high school diploma or equivalent
2-4 years of related work experience.
Strong oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge is required in the areas of, organization, evaluation, fund raising, time management, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
Requires the ability to be creative, set priorities, make quick and sound decisions, problem solve, work toward goals, work independently and as a team member, motivate others and act professionally in dealing with staff and the public.
Must be able to effectively operate the computer systems including the National MS Society databases, PC, Internet and e-mail.
Must also be able to operate the MS Society’s telephone system, copier, fax machine and security system.
Advanced computer abilities (MS Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, on-line fundraising tools, databases).
