Pay Rate: $500 per section, per semester

The Department of Movement Sciences invites applications for course instructors for Frisbee Golf classes. Spring 2013 classes will be taught on TTH 1:00 to 2:15 from March 18, 2013 through May 10, 2013. For best consideration, materials for Spring 2013 term should be received by February 20, 2013.

The Department of Movement Sciences invites applications for course instructors for physical activity classes.

The positions will remain open until filled; for best consideration, materials for Spring 2012 term should be received by January 19, 2012. Applicants may also be hired for future semesters.

PEB 106 (s) Individual and Dual Sports and Fitness Activities (1 cr, max arr). Bowling, racket sports, fencing, golf, gymnastics, conditioning (pilates, kickboxing aerobics, step aerobics, aerobics and body toning, water aerobics, weight training, roller hockey), backpacking, cycling, cross-country skiing, etc. Two days of field trips may be a part of the course requirements for such activities as backpacking, cycling, etc. Multiple sections of this course will be taught. Each section specializes in one of the specific areas listed above.

Minimum qualifications for skill classes are
  • a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the specific skill OR appropriate certification to teach in the skill area
Preferred qualifications for skill classes are
  • an earned Bachelor’s degree in health & exercise, dance, recreation, physical education, or related area
  • a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in the specific skill AND appropriate certification to teach in the skill area
Reporting Dates: January 19, 2012 or start of later semesters over a one-year period. (May 2012, August 2012, etc.; May include summer terms). Our intent is to create a pool to draw from as needed during this period.
