POSITION SUMMARY Manages the implementation of projects (capital and expense) related to new works for the facility. Manages budgets, safety and preventative actions, and the communication of results for the projects. Supports other members of the Engineering department with completion of projects for Facilities, Safety and Environmental initiatives. Supports the Manufacturing department (UP) through project support and consultation. Helps with development of in-plant engineering talent through mentoring. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -Develops capital budgets (yearly and 3 year plan) for necessary projects for the facility (related to New works). -Project Management of all new works projects in the facility. -Hires and Manages contractors to complete the necessary work. -Manages project safety and ensures all aspects are in conformance with L’OREAL and Regulatory guidelines, including SAB, RIO 28, RIO 29, and OSHA. -Conducts routine audits of work areas to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. -Supports other engineering department projects -Supports other departments within the plant as a technical resource -Conducts plant wide audits as part of the MESUR team. -Provides technical training and guidance for engineering talent in other departments -Develop a positive working relationship with the local Fire Marshal, Building Code Officials, and other state and local authorities as needed. -Primary backup for Facilities Engineering Manager during absences -Supports plant Emergency Response Teams, and is an assistant Site Emergency Coordinator. -Participates in plant building audits (Insurance review, Fire Department evaluations) -Flexible to be present during various shifts including occasional weekends to support the 24/7 operation of the facility. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED: Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Experience: 5 years minimum experience as a Project Engineer or equivalent in a manufacturing environment with a demonstrated project background commensurate with job responsibilities (construction, piping, mechanical and electrical systems, safety and civil works).
