Job ID 3285BR Location Lanett, AL Job Posting Title Director Clinical Education Registered Nurse Job Description The Director of Clinical Education plans, revises, coordinates, implements, and evaluates general orientation, nursing skills training, in-service education for nursing associates which leads to improved recruitment retention of facility staff and overall reduced turnover.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed RN in good standing and currently licensed by the State in which employed

Minimum one (1) year full-time experience as a licensed nurse providing direct resident care in a long term healthcare

Minimum one (1) year experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in the field of nursing. May substitute two (2) years full time experience as a licensed nurse, at least one year of which must be in the provision of direct resident care in a nursing facility and within six (6) months of employment. If substituting nursing experience, employee must obtain a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education in nursing courses in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing, or as established by specific state requirements and prior to teaching a certification program

Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
Preferred Qualifications

Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information

Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels
Essential Job Functions Work cooperatively leadership in planning programs to meet training needs and regulatory requirements
Participates in nursing associates hiring process to include responsibilities for recruitment, interviewing, and selection of these positions in collaboration with the appropriate Charge Nurse and Director of Nursing as well as works cooperatively with the business office personnel to ensure that candidate/applicant and new hire data is accurately entered and tracked in PeopleSoft which includes the opening of requisitions
Ensures the validity of certificates and their good standing for all CNAs hired. Contacts all state nurse aide registries in which associate has worked
Maintains files of lesson plans for all programs taught to facility associates and ensures training records are retained per company retention policies
Coordinates general orientation for all new associates beginning the first day of employment; updates general orientation as necessary, utilizing corporate orientation guidelines
Ensures mentor (Preceptor) program is in place for continued orientation for all nursing associates
Ensures completion of Orientation Skills Return Demonstration Checklist on all new nursing associates, validating that new associates are competent to perform all resident care tasks they will be assigned prior to providing direct resident care
Notify nursing associates regarding any updates or new requirements as needed from: NACS (Nurse Assistant Certification Section) or the State Board of Nursing for licensed associates
Develop programs and lesson plans, obtain Board approval, and instruct required hours of Certified Nursing Assistant Training that enables all non-certified direct care associates to complete the program within state specific time frame of their date of hire
Develop positive relationship with government regulators, families, area healthcare community, school of nursing and other allied health programs, and the community at large on behalf of the facility
