Required Qualification
Minimum Education, Licensure, Certification and Experience Required.
Education & Experience:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Associate degree in nursing.A level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the attainment of a degree as noted above.
Current 12 months experience within last 18 months in an emergency department setting.
Licensure/Certification:
Current, unrestricted license in the State of Kansas
BLS certification, Healthcare Provider status. ACLS within 6 months of employment. TNCC & ENPC/PALS within one year of employment, Emergency Severity Index (ESI) within 90 days of hire.
For RN staff of the Emergency Department, successful completion of the Basic EKG course within six months of hire (if previous experience in EKG rhythm recognition, may validate competency through completion of the course test).
Special Skills/Aptitudes:
Basic computer skills.
Assessment & judgment skills necessary to assess a patient’s condition and to utilize the nursing process in planning and providing comprehensive care to patients and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions. Exceptional customer service skills to meet and, whenever possible, exceed patient & family needs and expectations. Exceptional communication skills
