Basic Purpose : To perform all duties required of a Secrity Officer pertaining to the safety and security of all patients, visitors, and hospital staff.


Education : GED or High School Diploma

Licensure : N/A

Experience : 3-6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Skills : A condition of employment, all guards must be a Mississippi State Certified with their hospital approved weapon annually.

Language/Communication/Organizational Skills : Ability to read adn comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations of patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

Mathematical Skills : Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers adn to multiply adn divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve pratical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
