The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for serving patients, providers, and staff in facilitating access to services, tests, procedures, etc. at the direction of the care providers. The Scheduling Coordinator coordinates the flow and exchange of information related to patient activity and performs registration and scheduling functions, as well as other clerical functions that meet the needs of scheduling.
The scheduling coordinator will provide superior service by outlining the steps of the Weight Loss Clinic program and education and answering patient’s questions and concerns via phone. Schedule patient visits. Obtain, and verify insurance and demographic information from patients and enters timely and clinical information appropriately into clinic practice management system. Verify visit is in compliance with the insurance contract. Collect patient co-pays as needed. To ensure high quality care, and as a member of the care team, the scheduling coordinator supports quality patient centered care principle through performing a variety of high level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The scheduling coordinator will continually look for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.
1-2 years previous Health Care office experience including scheduling and reception duties highly preferred.
Sensitivity to bariatric population a necessity.
