Originate first mortgage loans to be sold in the secondary market or to a portfolio investor.
Produce leads for potential closed mortgage loans.
Work with realtors, builders, and related parties in establishing meaningful relationships that provide business referrals.
Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the regulatory environment, and operate within it’s boundaries.
Proactively develop new initiatives and ideas which result in more closed loan business.
Work well with the processors and closers in developing and operating in a “team” mentality.
Develop skills to increase margins on a per loan basis.
Assist in needed follow-up on post-closing issues.
Work with bank branch personnel in cross-selling various bank products and services.
Minimum of 2-4 years experience as a mortgage originator, preferably in a banking environment.
Up to date training on relative RESPA and Reg Z issues.
Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Effective and thorough sales skills, and possessing the necessary attention to detail required in the complex mortgage lending environment.
