Position Location: Northern Virginia
Position Description: Reports to the Chief Operating Officer. Responsible for managing assigned contracts and delivery/task orders. Also responsible for identifying opportunities, capturing new business and effectively representing Precise Systems in our targeted markets. Precise Systems is a service provider to the federal government. At present, contracts and task orders are predominately with Navy and Marine Corps organizations; however, the company intends to expand into the other Services and into related federal agencies (e.g., Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, intelligence agencies).
The Operations Manager personally develops new opportunities with prospective customer organizations. Provides technical expertise and support to qualify and quantify those opportunities. Develops the win strategy to capture opportunities selected for pursuit. Identifies potential teaming partners (companies) to achieve the highest probabilities of win while negotiating the general terms of teaming agreements to maximize Precise Systems work share. Manages newly won (and other assigned) contracts and delivery/task orders. Represents Precise Systems technical capabilities at marketing events and during both informal and formal customer presentations. Supports Precise Systems strategic planning, business development, capture management and proposal preparation processes. Develops business cases to quantify markets/opportunities and revenue/profit potential. Specifically, the incumbent will:
Ø Be responsible for profit/ loss, schedule and technical performance on assigned contracts and delivery/task orders.
Ø Focus on and achieve sales in new markets.
Prospect for new opportunities for diversification and growth.
Organize sales plan and forecasting for areas of responsibility.
Populate opportunities pipeline (in areas of responsibility) to accomplish sales goals.
Ø Gain market intelligence through direct customer/prospect and industry interaction.
Monitor market needs/requirements.
Document market intelligence to support proposal development.
Ø Contribute to corporate strategic planning and execution.
Work directly with executive team on overall business strategy development.
Develop/apply/monitor key business development performance metrics.
Ø Contribute to corporate marketing strategies that support the company strategic plan. Work directly with executive team to implement those marketing strategies.
Required Experience: Relevant experience required is 3 years (minimum) of direct experience and demonstrated success in operations management, business development, sales and marketing. Superior oral and written communication skills are a must. Experience with Federal government organizations and key decision makers is highly desirable. Must establish and maintain a network of productive government and industry contacts.
Required Education: BA/BS degree in a relevant field required. MA/MS/MBA preferred.
