JOB TITLE: Engineer Mfg – Tool Design Assoc
Responsible for designing and supporting the fabrication of the tools used to manufacture detail parts at Cessna facilities as well as tools provided to vendors by Cessna. Inputs to the process include, but are not limited to: engineering documents, tool work order requirements, coordinating tool definition, equipment specifications, manufacturing process plans, and departmental instructions.
Using CATIA and related computer systems, designers take the provided input and design a tool to produce a part per engineering type design through applying knowledge of metallurgy, machining, formability, machine forming operations, principles of tool design, ergonomics, design for manufacturability, and lean principles.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related technical background required. Basic knowledge of metallurgy, formability, and fabrication techniques is required as well as good communication skills, attention to detail, and Microsoft Office knowledge. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with co-workers, internal customers, and management at all levels.
5 yrs experience with CAD/CAM required. (CATIA V5 is desirable.)
