This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies if they become available.This vacancy is being announced concurrently with PAC-2011-0246 that is open to current and former Federal employees and certain veterans.The salary range above is only reflective of salary progression once in the grade.Starting salary per year GS-5: $37,073; GS-6: $41,325; GS-7: $45,923KEY REQUIREMENTS:Applicants must be U.S. Citizens.Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.Selectee may be subject to serving a one-year probationary period.More requirements are listed under Qualifications and Other Information.Back to top DutiesAdditional Duty Location Info:Menlo Park, CAAs an Administrative Operations Assistant in the Earthquake Science Center some of your specific duties will include:GS-5 -Coordinate and process bankcard statements reconciling and making adjustments of obligations in automated financial management system-Make airline/hotel reservations for travelers; process travel vouchers in automated travel management system-Maintain office supply inventory; order supplies using individual purchase card-Serve as vehicle coordinator; prepare usage reports and maintenance records-Control incoming correspondence and action documents; sort and distribute mail; type correspondence; maintain central files and recordsGS-6/7:-Serve as travel specialist advising on procedures/regulations; prepare routine and foreign travel authorizations and vouchers; monitor travel reports and coordinate/resolve discrepancies-Serve as Center's timekeeper; maintain and process time and attendance using automated time and attendance system-Maintain/oversee bankcards, reconciling daily transactions and payment in automated financial and budget management system (FBMS)-Obligate and process payment via remote data entry to the FBMS; use Basis+ to determine payment status-Receive/review/pay vendor invoices; research and resolve discrepancies; prepare documentation to effect adjustments-Assist with fiscal year-end budget close-out; provide documentation for preparation of accruals and adjustments; ensure proper accounts are charged-Perform a variety of clerical and administrative dutiesThe GS-06 grade level requires performance of tasks similar in nature to those described in the above listing of major duties.

At GS-06 grade level the employee is assigned work designed to further develop and refine knowledge and skills. Assignments will typically combine productive work with ongoing training and instruction.
