IT Business Analyst, Sr. - Novato, CA

Key Responsibilities

Support and manage the defect management process.

Prepare standard reports and provide analysis for management.

Support and manage the defect management tool.

Facilitate the effective and efficient use of defect management tools.

Develop and maintain user documentation including user guides, manuals and forms.

Respond to user questions regarding reports and products, including sources and meaning of data, and simplify technical concepts for users.

Prepare and maintain training materials and provide training on defect management policies and procedures and the use of defect tracking and management tools.

Develop and conduct regular reviews/audits to ensure compliance with procedures and data integrity.

Support continuous process improvements and standardizations through data analysis.

Strong analyst skills necessary to handle all aspects of tasks required; including analytical skills, problem solving, information gathering skills.

Ability to learn/utilize analytical technologies ranging from spreadsheet applications to fourth generation languages or query reporting tools as needed.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Leadership and project management skills.

Ability to handle multiple, complex assignments with varying key deliverables and limited supervision; manage multiple and dynamic priorities, adhere to aggressive project schedules and meet deadlines.

Ability to work both independently as well as a member of a team (IT, business, vendors).

Develop and conduct presentations for management.

At least five years of analyst or equivalent experience.

Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Working knowledge of ITIL preferred.

Must be able to communicate complex technical concepts and ideas in simple, organized, and understandable business language.

Enhanced understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to synthesize large amounts of data/concepts effectively into understandable terms both written and oral.

Ability to push back, challenge and negotiate appropriately to ensure goals are met.
