Department Description:
This person will work directly with the Chairman on a daily basis. Involved in building novel websites for use in clinical trials according to the specifications needed by the project sponsor and the Chairman. This person ensures that all machines (computers, software, electronics) are maintained and all necessary software has been installed appropriately. Ensures all computers have the appropriate virus protection and troubleshoots any related issues. Runs back ups on the server and on the appropriate computers. Troubleshoots all technical issues for all Study Group members . Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and in a timely manner with all team members

Job Summary: This individual filling this position will be a member of the PERFUSE Study Group. The IS Platform Developer Rsch is responsible for a variety of general technical and professional duties to support the Study Group, including serving as the primary platform developer for WikiDoc infrastructure, serving as the technical liaison to hospital IT systems by ensuring that all computers, printers, and all other technological devices and systems are in working order, performing routine backup/virus scans to computers, trouble-shooting computers, and setting up new systems as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Works with the Chairman/Director to maintain the quality and architectural coherence of software used by MediaWiki. Will be expected to build and maintain the MediaWiki platform using specific coding languages. The individual is required to have a background with PHP, C#, MySQL replication and cluster environments, and Java
  • Development, testing, and deployment of new features and improvements to the MediaWiki core and extensions for WikiDoc. To act as the primary software developer for the WikiDoc project and act as IT support liaison for hardware issues.
  • The position is related to designing coding infrastructure, without any interface. An individual would have to be highly proficient in the ability to navigate PHP, write code, and generate consumer-based dashboards. Works with the Chairman/Director on other novel projects involving platform development as necessary.
  • Performs regular virus scans and data backups of all computers as well as removes any viruses or spyware from infected computers. Sets up new computers/systems as needed and installs and maintains software as needed.
  • Trouble shoots any computer-related problems as well as back up server(s) on a regular basis.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years related work experience required.
  • Programming Languages: PHP, C#
  • Knowledge of advanced MySQL Replication and Cluster environments
  • Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in computer information science/technology related field.
  • Administrative level knowledge of the following systems: Windows XP/7/2003 SBS, Ubuntu Linux and RHEL, and Mac OS/X.
  • Experience building large-scale server applications.
  • Experience working in open source projects.

  • Physical Nature of the Job:
    Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move through out the hospital campus
