Our client an industry leader in the automotive and aerospace industries if currently in search for a CNC Programmer. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS: Perform duties as outlined and referenced in this duty list in a safe, consistent, accurate and timely manner. Maintain a positive, cooperative relationship with fellow workers and managers per company policies and procedures. Perform duties in a cost effective manner.DUTIES:Basic Operation and Understanding of Machines: Mount, align and secure tooling, attachments and work piece on machine. Select and install cutting tools in machine spindle. Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate parameters such as cutting depth, speed, feed and coolant flow. Start machine and monitor display and machine operation to detect malfunctions, notifying supervisor when malfunctions occur. Load control media such as tape, card or disk into machine controller and enter commands to retrieve programmed instructions from database. Enter commands or manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions. Measure and verify parts meet specified blueprints, sketches, and/or specifications using various measurement equipment necessary to task. Setup and operate numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broadening of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces. Read and interpret blueprint, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tool requirement, set-up procedure, control setup, and machining methods and sequences for all machines in department. Ability to work with 3D models in Unigraphics and/or ProE. Ability to program CNC lathes, mills and Lasers.Programming Responsibilities Ability to train, teach and supervise operators within the department. Make and incorporate suggestions for changes in dies, fixtures or materials used per documented procedures. Write code for all programming functions (online and offline). Maintain records and revisions for programs. Follow and be accountable to all instructions of MOP-019.
Experience: Minimum two years college/technical school or three years related experience/training with proven skills, prefer one year related experience with processes/products. Skills: Must have excellent cognitive skills, ability to comprehend blueprints, sketches, diagrams and written instructions (written or verbal), mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills, good judgment skills, good communication skills, good computer skills (AutoCAD and Unigraphics) and a team approach attitude willing to accept and designate responsibility
