Operates the Pusher/Charger Machine, (PCM), Door Machine, Hot Car, Quench and assorted mobile equipment as needed in the processing of coal into metallurgical coke. Performs various labor/clean-up duties throughout the coke plant and facility. Uses various mobile equipment in performance of duties.
• Operates equipment in conformance with established standard operating procedures, with respect to production, quality, safety and environmental requirements
• Operates various mobile, motorized/powered and heavy equipment, including but not limited to, bobcat, forklift, cherry picker, Tymco, Luhl, manlift, scissor lift and front-end loader in conformance with established standard operating procedures, with respect to safety, quality and environmental requirements. Licenses/certifcations as required in plants.
• Inspects machines and equipment and communicates with workers engaged in maintenance and repair work. Conducts visual inspection of ovens, machines, equipment (including pumps, motors, A/C units, lights, hoses/pipes), radios, conveyor belts and gauges to ensure proper and safe operations prior to engaging in work. Completes inspection reports prior to/during/after shift as needed.

High School diploma and/or GED required. One year certificate from college or technical school preferred. Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; extreme heat (non-weather); and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with noise level in some areas high. The employee must be able to wear respirator and job-related PPE.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Color and Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; bend; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and/or hear. The employee is regularly required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
