Account Executive, Visa Inc., Acceptance Americas Merchant Sales is responsible for sales activities with large and complex merchants. Sales activities will include securing Visa volume and the selling of Visa products and services. Initial focus for this position will be to work with merchants to promote the value of Visa debit. .
The position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, particularly within the Acceptance, Product, Pricing and Interchange teams, to execute on sales strategies, goals and to optimize business performance with key merchants.
The position is based in Visa's offices Toronto office.
Develop and execute customized account plans to increase sales volume and market share in Everyday spend segments
Meet with merchants to promote the value of Visa and sell in Visa products and services
Create new sales and revenue generating opportunities as appropriate
Develop an understanding of the customer's business including payment strategy across all product platforms
Utilize a consultative sales approach that ensures that the client’s business objectives are met and that the performance metrics of their payment portfolios are maximized
Prepare proposals and negotiate contractual relationships with merchants for accepting and deploying Visa products and services
Continuously review client/merchant landscape and recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to growing the Visa business
Assist marketing and product development in launching new products or expanding the penetration of existing products within current and new accounts
Provide operational or technical leadership within sales
Ensure implementation of annual goals and plans
Foster productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization
Actively participate and lead various ad-hoc internal projects as assigned
Participate in sales meetings and training activities
Minimum of 8 years of overall business experience with 2 years of related sales and relationship management expertise. A background in payments industry is preferred.
Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing a complex, competitive sales effort
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with levels including executive management.
Ability to manage & grow internal and external resources and cross functional relationships
Experience negotiating business agreements and ability to enhance existing and develop new business partnerships
Experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance including P&L responsibility and accurately forecasting sources of cost, revenue and risk with an ability to summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision making.
Education: BA/BS Degree
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
