Oversees all residential sales channels including (but not limited to) the Inbound Sales Call Center, Telemarketing, Retail, Door-To-Door, MDU, Third-Party and Online Sales. Exceeds sales and revenue growth objectives by driving sales of individual and bundled Cox services (video, data, voice and wireless) while optimizing the performance of each sales channel. Provides strategic direction and tactical support to the entire sales organization, particularly in the areas of call routing and handling, specialized order/account processing, reporting and analysis, sales method and policy development, quota setting, credit compliance, inventory management, work order accuracy, merchandising of Cox-owned retail & third party locations and ad-hoc project management.
Provides leadership and vision to develop and sustain a strong sales culture in the Cox-Cleveland operation.
Selects, manages and develops a high performance sales team that sells across all Cox product lines.
Drives alignment/consistency/cohesiveness in people practices, sales channel management activities, overall performance management and customer service delivery to achieve personal and department goals.
Manages resources to meet or exceed customer and/or business expectations including but not limited to staffing and workload allocation.
Monitors/analyzes sales performance and takes accountability for driving improvements in sales/revenue growth, sales quality, customer satisfaction and other key performance metrics.
Reviews, develops, reports and documents sales operations practices that result in improved effectiveness and efficiency.
Establishes and leverages strong partnerships with key departments to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded.
Assists in the development and maintenance of policy & procedure "playbooks" for all sales channels to standardize best practices and minimize sales channel conflict.
Provides leadership development and ongoing feedback to sales team leaders.
Provides input and recommendations regarding strategic business or sales initiatives.
Participates in the development of annual operating budgets and re-forecasts.
Typical Training / Experience - Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-10 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a multi-channel sales management capacity.
Influence/People Leadership - Manages supervisors/team leaders and associated support staff.
Span Of Control/Complexity â€“ Typically manages a team of supervisors/team leaders and indirectly supervises support staff. Activities are typically more diverse covering multiple functions and may be responsible for complex projects having significant scope/impact.
Decision-Making Authority - Recommends and makes decisions regarding plans, policies, and guidelines with department and/or system impact. Significant decisions are typically subject to review & approval by a higher level director or officer
Financial - Contributes to development of an operating plan and budget; Responsible for managing or coordinating expenses within a budget or part of a larger budget.
Consequence Of Error - Actions at this level can cause or prevent delays, inefficiencies or unnecessary expenses that measurably affect operational results.
