PART-TIME POSITION Work Location: University Hospital Varied hours based on availibility and every other weekend will be required.
Summary:
Presents University of Missouri Health Care's Room Service and/or Star Additions program(s) to patients. Take, transcribe, and communicate meal orders from patients. Coordinates the Nutrition & Food Service call center processes with production, tray line, and patients. Resolves issues that may affect the delivery of patient meals. Acts as a liaison between patients, Nutrition and Food Service and other departments.
Required Qualifications:
Required: High School graduate or equivalent. One year of responsible office experience. Education or training may be substituted for office experience. Preferred: Degree in nutrition, hotel & restaurant management, hospitality service, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification by the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers &/or hospitality service &/or telecommunications experience.

: Must have full range of body motion including but not limited to moving large and awkward size boxes from floor to ceiling, restocking shelves, and delivering items to patient floors. This requires stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Hearing and vision must be correctable to the normal range. Must be able to lift and transport 15 pounds Detailed Description:
Expedite delivery of nutrition care through the use of computer programs such as CBORD, Digital Dining, Cerner, HBOC, and/or other automated equipment. Generate tray tickets and other reports as needed. Generate data for missed meals report & follow up with patients per missed meal policy. Recommend & determine appropriate food choices based on patient diet order. Expedite changes and/or diet compliant substitutes per patient requests. Expedite new diet orders as received from the nurse?s stations. Inform patients of their physician?s diet order as indicated on the patient?s menu and/or patient list report. Monitor and verify changes in diet orders or prescriptions. Present and instruct patients on the Star Additions and/or Room Service program(s). Assist in determining patient capability to utilize the Star Additions and/or Room Service program(s) with the guidance of clinical nutrition staff. Assist patients or family members with completion of menus and/or ordering from Room Service and/or Star Additions program(s). Demonstrate service excellence by promptly investigating unusual incidents and/or reports concerns to supervisor. Anticipate and service the needs of patients and team members. Assure a high level of patient satisfaction through positive interaction with patients, nursing & other members of the patient care team. Follow through with tasks and work-related concerns effectively and expeditiously. Own problems and job-related concerns and work to ensure a satisfactory resolution at all times. Submit outpatient tray report to administrative clerical staff for billing purpose. Gather data for bi-weekly & monthly meal equivalent report. Perform other Star Additions and/or Room Service reports as requested. Assist in development & provision of in-services for department staff as assigned. Assist in orientation of new employees.
