2 consecutive years underwriting experience in a consumer lending role

High school diploma, GED or equivalent

5 consecutive years underwriting experience in a consumer lending role.

2 years experience in residential lending.

Ability to recommend and support business decisions outside of standard underwriting guideline

The primary purpose of the underwriter is to perform the timely and accurate preliminary and final underwriting of loan applications received from branch, internet and inbound channels while demonstrating sound discretionary credit intuition and simultaneously determining full compliance with the BankÕs credit policy requirements.

Perform credit analysis, with or without the assistance of automated underwriting system, to determine borrowerÕs willingness and ability to repay the debt. This is done by reviewing the credit application to determine the loan amount and term, addressing potential red flags, assessing bank relationship, analyzing credit history, calculating income and proposed payment to income, debt to income and loan to value ratios.

Review credit documents for completeness and accuracy.

Review collateral value of the subject property.

Examine income documentation to verify that the borrower has the capacity to repay the loan.

Underwrite all products offered by the company to include real estate secured products and unsecured products.

Train less experienced underwriters, processors and loan officers in basic underwriting requirements.
