This position will report directly to Human Resources Manager for Global Fire Suppression, a division of Climate, Controls and Security Systems, a United Technologies company. There are no direct reports. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all HR responsibilities of about 400 employees across 2-3 sites. The sites are located in the US.
Position is located in Ashland, MA, about 40 minutes west of Boston, MA.
Responsible for all HR activities across these locations as it relates to recruiting, hiring, restructuring, employee relations, employment cost, etc.
A strategic business partner that must have a solid business sense and be able to grasp all financial, operations and customer expectations that drive profitability and value.
Responsible for managing all headcount and employment cost tracking and strategies to maximize the efficiency, employee productivity and revenue of all organizations. Accurate monthly reporting on all aspects of employment cost including health benefits, variable pay plans, workers compensation, employer taxes, leased vehicles, etc. Attention to detail is critical.
Develop and implement strategic plans for employee satisfaction, employee communication through results of bi-annual corporate employee survey.
Recruit high performing individuals across the division at all levels of the organization. Develop creative, innovative and cost effective strategies to recruit high potential talent.
Drive culture integration and culture change across the businesses that will result in high employee productivity and team building.
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives that will benefit the profitability of the division and the company.
Drive the implementation of standard process relating to performance feedback, leadership development, succession planning and employee development.
Provide the necessary leadership to promote change throughout the organization. Inherent in this process is the personal development, training and overall commitment to his/her workforce that is aligned with UTCs beliefs and behaviors.
Lead in handling all aspects of labor relations with multiple non-union sites.
In all areas of responsibility, the incumbent is responsible for providing full compliance with the UTC Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government and the UTC Code of Ethics
Responsible for the performance of other tasks related to this position as cognizant management assigns them.
A bachelors degree is required in Business, Finance, Psychology, or equivalent majors.
An MBA or Masters degree is highly preferred.
Must have 1-4 years experience in Human Resources management within a demanding and fast paced environment.
We would prefer experience with a large, premier, manufacturing or service/installation entity.
Experience in labor relations highly preferred.
Expertise with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with employee relations, employee and leadership development.
Must be willing to travel 10-15%.
Must demonstrate ability to work across different product lines and different channels to market
Must demonstrate ability to work and influence without direct supervisory responsibilities
