JOB SUMMARY: The Radiology Clerk Coordinator answers the telephone, schedules procedures, registers patients, greets the public and performs other secretarial and clerical duties, maintaining continuous contact with the public, patients, other hospital personnel and the medical staff, always carrying out the responsibilities of the position with professionalism in order to promote a positive experience for the patient in the care of the department and Singing River Health System. Responsibilities include printing, filing and retrieving reports and other documents, labeling and filing of film jackets, photocopying, processing and coordinating requests, printing and distributing documents, faxing, gathering film jackets from dictating stations, collecting request tickets from dictating stations and taking them to the typists as needed, filing report folders, checking out film jackets, checking in film jackets, transfer of loan film to original film jackets, searching for film to match requests, and matching film to be read with tickets and jackets. The Radiology Clerk Coordinator is expected to participate in the process of creating a workplace environment in which honesty, open communication, impartiality and understanding foster the growth of creative problem solving, quick and effective resolutions to conflicts, a welcome introduction of ideas for improving systems and/or procedures, and a sense of community with other SRHS employees. An ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters and effectively, pleasantly interact with others is essential to success in the position. This individual must be forthcoming, honest and cooperative in departmental matters involving self or others, and must promote the SRHS mission of "world class healthcare and wellness" and understands that the SRHS Corporate Compliance Program places the burden of proof on the provider to show that there was no intent to commit fraud.

REQUIREMENTS: l High school graduate. l Personal computer and word processing experience preferred; ability to interact well with others in person, on the phone and the intercom is essential; typing skills of 30 wpm with accuracy and clear, legible handwriting required; good telephone etiquette necessary; good knowledge of medical vocabulary is preferred.
