Salary Range Information
Salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule is dependent on the employees’ education and/or work experience. Initial placement will be at bachelor (BA) step 1. If minimum qualifications are higher than a (BA), they will be placed at the initial requirement level for this position. For further advancement on our certified salary schedule you can do the following:
Education Credit for Placement on Salary Schedule:
After initial placement by the district on the salary schedule, the certified/licensed employee can provide the district additional official transcripts and/or documentation to support further salary advancement.
Work Experience Credit for Placement on Salary Schedule:
Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years’, which includes in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching and/or work experience. Responsibility for verification of outside experience shall rest with the individual employee.
If the above is done within first (90) calendar days of employment, then their salary shall be retroactive to the employees’ contract date. After (90) calendar days of employment, the employee will then advance on the salary schedule in the normal manner.

· Successful completion of the on-line Haberman Assessment (Haberman Assessment Link will be sent to certified staff in mid-December, and to external applicants who have passed the district’s Human Resources screening process.
· Copy of most recent evaluation

Staff will have a belief system based on the fact that all children can and will learn and are capable of meeting high expectations that are articulated to them.
Staff members are life-long learners who continuously learn, change and grow.
Staff members will use the coaches that are provided in order to meet the needs of the diverse learners at Hillcrest Elementary. This involves feedback and assistance to support individual and community improvement.
Staff will function as a Professional Learning Community, with the following characteristics:
· Supportive and shared leadership, which invites staff input and action in decision-making that is based on what is best for students
· Shared values and vision includes an unwavering commitment to student learning that is consistently articulated and referenced in the staff’s work
· Collective learning and application of learning requires the school staff at all levels are engaged in processes that collectively seek new knowledge among staff and application of learning to solutions that address students’ needs.
· Supportive conditions include physical conditions and human capacities that encourage and sustain a collegial atmosphere and collective learning
· Shared practice involves the review of a teacher’s behavior by colleagues and includes feedback and assistance to support individual and community improvement.
Functioning as a Professional Learning Community means that we will collaborate as grade level colleagues and in vertical teams. We will align our instruction vertically and we will also discuss consistent vocabulary across content that will be used in grade levels and vertical teams. We will use student work to drive our instruction and we will consistently analyze and adjust our instruction based on students’ needs. We will ensure students master the standards and grasp the conceptual understanding rather than just cover the standards.
Staff will use the Gradual Release Model for instruction. Staff will provide models and mentor text or examples.
Inquiry based learning will be used by staff to develop students that can think and use higher level thinking skills to come up with their own ideas to show transfer of learning. Conceptual learning will be modeled so that students understand the conceptual learning behind the skill development.
Professional Development will be driven by student and staff needs based on data to ensure that students continue to learn and grow and that we are able to meet our building goals.
NECESSARY SKILLS AND BACKGROUND: Possess or ability to obtain valid/appropriate Colorado Educator License. Willingness to contribute to cultural diversity for educational enrichment. All candidates must possess the required license or the ability to fulfill the requirements for the No Child Left Behind Act of 2002.
Preference given to candidates with ELL Training and/or an ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement.
