We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Construction Group. Candidates must have a BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a similar degree, a valid driver’s license and five or more years of estimating experience including working with large commercial or industrial projects. The ability to read and understand construction blueprints/plans to discuss them with the site manager or client is required. A thorough knowledge of building science and construction processes is required. Candidates must have a working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite as well as construction scheduling and project management software. Strong communication, interpersonal, math and analytical skills are a must. A Registered Professional Engineer is a plus, but not a requirement.
Typical responsibilities include:
Analyze plans and specifications to determine the final cost of large industrial projects
Prepare and analyze project construction cost estimates for budgeting and change management
Oversee project budgets to ensure that contractor costs are accurate
Work with the planning engineers and site supervisors to predict the duration of the project, timelines and other project deliverables
Develop a purchasing checklist to assist staff prior to awarding work
Interface with all levels of the project team
Visit job sites as needed
Perform constructability reviews
Maintain a safe work environment
Maintain excellent client relations
