Description
CSC's Intelligence Business Unit is seeking a Web Developer / Programmer to develop and maintain an instant messaging application. Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required. The program follows a 5-day work week; however, the candidate must be able to respond to tier 2+ support calls during and outside of normal business hours, including weekends, as required. This is an opportunity to work on an exciting, meaningful program in a conveniently located, modern facility with ample, adjacent parking.
Essential Job Functions
Creates demonstration-application(s) based on customer requirements and tight timelines to demonstrate feasibility of the application.
Defines and creates demonstration software and systems to showcase products and systems.
Tests user configurations for system compatibility. Coordinates the installation and maintenance of products/systems to ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications.
Interacts with engineering groups to assist in the design changes to equipment. Oversees the tracking of progress and quality of the projects with accountability to the customer, project manager and management to ensure on on-time and smooth product launch for the customer.
Trains and communicates with customers on systems applications and trains and guides junior engineers.
Maintains relationships with multiple customers post integration; supports their needs and builds the relationship to encourage future growth of business with the customer.
Researches and analyzes technology and industry trends to remain pro-active and current in the industry.
Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
Works in conjunction with the business development staff to create new business by identifying customer purchasing requirements and providing technical support to potential/current customers in sales presentations and/or product demonstrations.
Performs highly complex systems modeling, simulation and analysis to provide appropriate solution.
Conducts investigations and tests of complex software systems to enhance performance or to investigate and resolve matters of significance.
Reviews completion and implementation of technical products to ensure success and timeliness.
Recommends corrections in complex technical applications and analysis to enhance performance.
Evaluates vendor capabilities on projects to provide required products or services.
Provides technical consultation to other organizations; interacts with senior customer personnel and internal senior management
Qualifications
Key Qualifications
Working knowledge of Jabber
Looking for the the following technical skills:
PHP - General familiarity with PHP.
JAVA - 3+ years experience developing JAVA web applications.
AJAX - Experience working with AJAX libraries. Experience working with Jabber Werx would be a plus.
Apache - Familiarity with Apache HTTP web server.
Tomcat - 3+ years experience developing JAVA applications using Tomcat or another servlet container (WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss etc...)
MySQL - Experience developing applications interfacing with a MySQL database or strong SQL development experience using another database product.
Linux - 1+ years experience.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
Six or more years of experience in software engineering or operating systems programming
Experience working with software design principles
Other Qualifications
Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills to resolve highly complex software design issues and create new software for one or more products
Good leadership skills to mentor, oversee, and lead team members
Good interpersonal skills to interact with senior customers, management, and team members
Good communication skills to interact with team members and senior support personnel
Ability to synthesize broad and narrow concepts of high complexity and use them to meet company objectives
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
