Actively seeking a Research Analyst to perform quantitative survey-based research for Chicago Tribune Media Group. In this role you will support the team’s mission to drive business results through strategic research, insight dissemination, and bridging the communication gap between researchers and business leaders. The ideal candidate will have prior experience creating surveys and utilizing web survey tools.

Responsibilities:

Role focuses primarily on the technical aspects of quantitative research studies:
  • Scripting and programming questionnaires
    Managing the customer sampling process to ensure proper quotas, criteria, and procedure is followed
  • Monitoring and providing updates on survey response (to internal clients)
    Cross-tab design and execution
  • Report design and set-up
  • Report automation for ongoing studies
  • Recruiting and scheduling for in-house focus groups
Use research and feedback collection to formulate preliminary recommendations
Distill large collections of data into manageable insights for internal business owners
Support broader research team in large scale research efforts
Stay abreast of trends and best practices in media, business industry, and consumer behavior and evaluates their relevance to Tribune

Lead by example with customer-centric mentality; consistently bringing voice of the customer as an influencing factor in key decisions across the company

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Psychology, Communications or related field
  • 1 – 3 years experience in marketing or research
  • Insightful analytical skills and good business judgment a must
  • Proactively looks for ways to improve working practices
  • Ability to effectively present to multiple levels within the organization
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to thrive in changing culture as outlined by company’s cultural imperatives
  • Technical skill in the following areas: Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Web survey tools; SPSS or SAS a plus
