Saint Joseph Mercy Health System (SJMHS) Department of Radiology is a highly specialized department that offers the latest high-quality technology by skilled board certified radiologists, physician assistants, technologists and nurses. The department provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures at multiple locations. Some of the procedures offered include:
• General Diagnostic Radiology
• Bone Densitometry
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
• Nuclear Medicine
• Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and PET/CT
• Vascular and Interventional Radiology (Angiography)
Assists physicians in administering radiation treatment according to established policies and procedures and physician written directives. Review patient’s treatment record for completeness. Confers with physicians and physics/dosimetry for clarification. Reviews the electronic chart (IMPAC) and patient treatment record for consistency, completeness, and accuracy. Operates all features authorized for radiation therapist in IMPAC. Assists in simulation and treatment planning. Prepares treatment room and equipment, explains procedures to patients. Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent. One year of specialized training and certification by ARRT (American Registry for Radiologic Technologists). One year experience as therapist preferred or three to six months on the job training.
Successful candidate will be subject to mandatory vaccinations/immunizations unless they qualify for an available exemption.
