Operations Management Trainees (OMT) with Shaw will utilize their engineering skills to complete high-priority project work to strengthen our competitive edge in the market. These projects will include working with a variety of business groups, being immersed in process optimization, and striving to achieve value-maximizing goals. During their time as an OMT, associates will build their knowledge base regarding manufacturing techniques, process knowledge, product development, customer service, human resource management, inventory control, product transportation, and shipping/receiving procedures. In addition, Trainees will complete personal and professional development training courses such as Time Management and the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. After having sufficient opportunity to grow with the company and network with other Shaw management personnel, Trainees will interview for open entry-level positions in the company and will move into those roles when their projects have concluded. Initial training takes place in Dalton, GA but various permanent positions exist throughout the southeast.

Graduates with Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or other similar degrees that are looking to begin a career with Shaw in the field of Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineering can expect to work in a Manufacturing facility to help expand upon and further develop their knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory compliance concerns as they apply to a manufacturing organization. Individuals who are chosen for this position also may spend time in a Corporate Risk Management environment focusing on safety compliance, behavior-based-safety program management, environmental compliance, DOT safety, and worker's compensation. By the conclusion of their training program, individuals chosen for this position become experts in their field and are open to a wide variety of opportunities company-wide.

Qualifications

Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree is required.

Degree/Major: Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or very similar degree.

Co-op or intern experience preferred. Minimum 2.5 grade point average.

Citizenship: US Citizen, Permanent Resident, Asylum, or Refugee.
