Camp Supervisor $10.00 - $12.75 / hr.
Therapeutic Camp Supervisor $13.00 - $15.75 / hr.
A Camp Supervisor oversees camp staff and the overall operations and programming of camp activities. A minimum of two years of college plus 320 hours of child-related work experience is required. Therapeutic Camp Supervisor requires a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and one year experience with special needs children. Top end of pay range includes a $2 per hour pay incentive for teachers. Must be able to work varied hours. Drug and background check required.
Asst. Camp Supervisor $9.00 - $9.75 / hr.
Therapeutic Assistant Camp Supervisor $12.00 - $12.75 / hr.
An Assistant Camp Supervisor assists with the supervision of staff and the overall operations and programming of camp activities and will supervise camp activities in the supervisor’s absence. A minimum of two years of college and 240 hours of child-related work experience is required. Therapeutic Camp Assistant Supervisor requires an Associates Degree in Special Education and one year experience with special needs children. Must work varied hours. Drug and background check is required.
Camp Counselor $8.00 - $8.75 / hr.
Therapeutic Camp Counselor $11.00 - $11.75 / hr.
A Camp Counselor oversees a group of children in camp settings and on field trips. Duties include organizing, instructing and leading children in games, crafts, sports and other recreational activities. Completion of 10th grade is required. Child-related work experience helpful. Therapeutic Camp Counselor requires an Associates Degree in Special Education and one year experience with special needs children. Must be able to work varied hours. Drug and background check is required.
Specialty Camp or $8.00 - $8.75 / hr.
Substitute Camp Counselor
Specialty Camp Counselors and Substitute Counselors work part-time in various locations throughout Sarasota County. Specialty camp counselors oversee children, handle check-in and check-out and assist instructors or topic experts as they present camp content. Specialty Camp Counselors may work mornings or afternoons only. Substitute counselors perform all the duties of camp counselors, filling in at camp sites as needed. Substitute counselors work 8-hour days but may not work full weeks and do not need to work all weeks of camp. Must be able to work varied hours. Drug and background check is required.
A condition of employment with Sarasota County requires the submission of an official Social Security Card. If you do not possess an official card you must obtain one through the Social Security Administration. Also, there is a MANDATORY Training beginning June 5th.
