Job Summary:
Conducts medically prescribed occupational therapy treatment programs under the supervision of an occupational therapist or a Certified Hand Therapist. Supervises students.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepares for therapeutic intervention. Treats patients with therapeutic procedures, modalities and or equipment to improve function. Completes post-intervention activities: session closure, documentation, communication, charge capture. Assures efficient management of work processes, by completing tasks and assignments by time standards.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited certified occupational therapy assistant program: . Associates Degree as Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Qualifications
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current state licensure as a certified occupational therapy assistant. Will consider license applicant, AHA BLS-HCP provider.
Complexity of Work:
Requires critical thinking, complex problem solving, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a demanding environment, balance multiple priorities and take appropriate actions. Computer proficiency in word processing/typing, basic application and hardware functions required for applicable care setting.

This position can access all medical record information, including demographic, date of service, insurance/billing and medical record summaries. This position requires this patient health information in order to perform the functions outlined as part of this position description.
