Job Description Pay Rate:

1st Shift $10.45 /hour

2nd Shift $10.80 /hour

1st Shift (7:00am-3:30pm) or (8:00am - 4:30pm)

Daily Overtime and Saturdays as Needed

2nd Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am)

Begins last week of July or first week of August and last 8 weeks

Reports to: Fulfillment Supervisors / Leads

General Responsibilities:
  • Processing of customer orders, including, but not limited to: picking, restocking, packing and performing Value Added Service functions.
  • This position will be designated to assist and support the shipping department when business and staffing needs dictate. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Processing Cartons on the Order Consolidation Lanes in shipping:
      • Scanning cartons to designated pallets as directed by the WM computer system
      • Scanning pallet labels
      • Stacking cartons on designated pallets
      • Verifying/auditing cartons to ensure they are assigned to the correct pallet
      • Manually processing rejected cartons, scanning and redirecting them to the appropriate lane and/or pallet
    • Special Processing of UPS Canadian orders, Federal Express priority and US Postal Service orders
    • Moving and Staging pallets using both manual and automated equipment, i.e. hand jack or dock stocker
    • Manually wrapping a pallet with shrink wrap or using the shrink wrap machine
    • Loading trucks manually floor loading cartons, or using a dock stocker
    • Utilizing pallet reports to verify cartons/pallets for each shipment
    • Understanding how to read a Bill of Lading
    • Interaction with truck drivers and local carriers
    • Applying packing slips to cartons
    • Stacking cartons in the UPS truck
    • Performing alternative manual processes outside of the normal automated system when the operation and volume dictate
    • Processing International and Liquidation orders using the Scan Pack metho
    • Assisting with SetBuilding and projects associated with Assembly, Rework and Quality Control:
    • Labeling cartons
    • Cutting , slicing and taping of inner pack boxes to required order quantities
    • Restocking product to pick mod locations via RF scanner
    • Labeling master cartons and lifting onto conveyors and stacking onto pallets
    • Packing boxes using void fill equipment or by manual process
    • Pushing carts in non-conveyable areas when picking and packing orders
  • Performing housekeeping duties and maintaining the 5S System in each area
  • Performing and assisting with any other duties deemed necessary based upon business needs

Qualifications General Requirements:
  • Ability to become FL 2 certified equipment operator
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up 50 pounds on a regular, consistent basis
  • Ability to walk and stand for 100% of the workday
  • Ability to climb up and own stairs as needed throughout the workday
  • Ability to bend, stoop and twist on a regular basis
  • Ability to work in hot, cold and noisy conditions
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Flexible in adjusting work schedule based upon needs of the business
  • Willingness to work in other departments as business needs require
  • Ability to use equipment in various departments:
  • RF hand scanner
  • Using computer to manually confirm cartons
  • Using computer to reprint packing slips
  • Tape Machine (carton making & closeout)
  • Void Fill Equipment (air pillow machines)
  • Pallet Jack
    • Experience working in all areas of the Outbound department preferred
    • Experience using computer programs is a plus: Excel, Word, Power Point
    • Strong, reliable attendance record
    • No formal counseling reports beyond a written warning
    • Must be performing at a satisfactory level in current position
    • Strong reading, writing and good math skills
    • Excellent safety record
    • Ability to communicate well with co-workers, leads, supervisors and managers
    • Must be capable of working well with coworkers without exhibiting behavioral extremes
    • Must be capable of responding appropriately to constructive feedback and coaching
    • Maintain a positive attitude and a professional manner
    • Ability to be flexible and adjust well to changes in work assignments and projects as needed
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Successful background check and drug screen
    • Candidates with immediate family members who already work in the Outbound department are ineligible to apply for these positions.
Additional Information

Expected duration for these temporary seasonal positions is up to 6 months or a maximum of 1500 hours per calendar year, whichever comes first.
