Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION

:

The NA Transportation Vendor Management Team oversees Lexmark’s transportation providers and processes for both Domestic inbound/outbound and International import/export for all modes. The position will contribute by evaluating processes, programs and procedures to ensure service requirements for both internal and external customers are being met and corporate policies are being adhered to at all times. This position will develop and maintain KPI measurements to ensure expectations are achieved at the lowest possible cost. This position will work cross-functionally as a subject matter expert to drive continuous improvements throughout supply chain processes.

This position will oversee Lexmark’s NA Compliance program. This position will act as an independent and objective authority responsible for reviewing and evaluating compliance issues for Lexmark NA. The position will contribute by developing and supporting processes to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory mandates. Identifies and assesses compliance risk; consults with business units to help risk owners manage risk; monitors and reports on compliance risk management.

Responsibilities

Understand and manage supplier relationships as it relates to transportation processes, cost management and customer execution. Work cross-functionally to improve service levels and drive customer satisfaction.

Review monthly metric packages with each supplier, understand gaps in processes, recommend actions, and require sustainable improvements.

Understand and provide recommendations and solutions to internal or external customer issues related to all modes of transportation, domestic and import/export. Understand how to access information and to make appropriate decisions to support business need and customer requirements. Be able to provide cost options in order to make best decision.

Analyze freight data to understand cost gaps, communicate and develop actions to close gaps, ie: incorrect carrier usage, wrong modes and analyze specific to a customer or set of customers to determine freight allowance or validate special freight programs.

Analyze current rates vs. proposed rates to determine cost impact. Analyze current rates vs. other suppliers to benchmark or as RFQ analysis.

Drive process improvements and strategic initiatives to improve total cost, quality of execusion and overall operational efficiency.

Benchmark Lexmark transportation operations against industry best practices and share industry practices with the transportation team and management and made recommendations.

Assist in developing inbound / outbound transportation strategies and executing to the strategies.

Communicate and consult with in-house and outside counsel and business units to help ensure compliance of legal and regulatory mandates.

Regularly evaluate, perform self- assessments, develop and monitor metrics on the effectiveness of the NA regulatory and legal compliance program. Maintain records in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Oversee on-site suppliers performing compliance activities

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Four year degree required. MBA is a plus

5 years Transportation/Logistics experience

3-5 years Compliance experience

3-5 years Vendor Management

Prior experience in warehousing and/or supply chain management a plus

Skills

Strong written and oral communication skills

Works effectively and cooperatively with other team members to achieve goals and develop/maintain working relationships

Proven analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

Attention to detail and solid organizational skills

Ability to think creatively
