Kuparuk is a giant, mature oil field on the North Slope of Alaska that has been on production since 1982 and has produced in excess of 2.3 billion barrels of oil. It is the second largest oil field in Alaska after Prudhoe Bay. In addition to Kuparuk, there are four satellite oil fields, Tarn, Meltwater, Tabasco and the viscous oil West Sak, operated by ConocoPhillips Alaska. The Greater Kuparuk Area (GKA) consists of 47 drillsites with over 1,100 wells. GKA also contains three Central Processing Facilities (CPFs) that gather, separate, and process hydrocarbons, denoted CPF1, CPF2, and CPF3. There are active water flood and Miscible Injectant Water Alternating Gas (MWAG) floods in GKA. The North Slope Kuparuk assets collectively produce ~ 125 MBOPD and 600 MMSCFD produced and lift gas, and inject 600 MBPD of water and 150 MMSCFD of Miscible Injectant.
