USC's School of Social Work is seeking a Program Assistant to join its team.
The Program Assistant assists in planning and implementation of services and activities specific to a University program.

Job Accountabilities:
Coordinates program services and/or activities. Schedules classes, meetings and/or events. Provides leadership and guidance for student workers and/or volunteers. Arranges with vendors for services. Ensures satisfactory follow through on assigned areas of responsibility.

Assist in the development and maintenance of the program website.

Assists in program budget preparation and administration. Researches costs. Tracks and monitors budget expenditures. Reports on variances.

Assists in program fundraising activities. Researches and identifies funding sources. Assists in proposal writing and production.

Researches and gathers information for program purposes which may include: program effectiveness, client needs assessment, budget preparation, etc. Conducts preliminary analysis of data. Submits recommendations and prepares reports, as assigned.

Coordinates program services with other offices and staff on campus. Serves as a resource for program information. Represents program on university committees as requested.

Provides client services by responding to inquires and requests for information regarding specific program functions.

The applicant will assist in planning and implementing activities specific to the Behavioral Health Research Cluster at the USC School of Social Work. Responsibilities will be focused on coordinating research activities for the program. Specifically, the applicant will assist the director in program administration including scheduling cluster meetings, preparing agendas and reports, assisting in website development and maintenance, and distributing materials. An essential function of the position will be to assist cluster faculty members with the submission of grant proposals and/or manage current funded grants. This will include assisting in budget preparation and/or administration, researching and gathering information for proposal production purposes, and preparing annual reports. The position will also coordinate the day to day operations of the program office including meeting and travel logistics for research related activities. The employee holding this position will provide leadership and guidance for student workers and assist in other related duties as assigned or requested. Overall, the position will serve as a resource for program information with other offices and staff/faculty on campus, the local community and external funding agencies (i.e. National Institutes of Health).

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 1 year
Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
Minimum Field of Expertise: Administrative support services
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Preferred Experience: 2 years
Preferred Field of Expertise: Administrative support or program support services in directly related field.
