Mercy Children’s Hospital - Clinical Outcomes Manager (COM) position available, full time days. Quality and Safety Manager has responsibility for leading and/or facilitating activities that support pediatric and neonatal clinical quality, patient safety, medication safety, infection prevention, and performance improvement. This includes data collection and reporting for Joint Commission Children’s Asthma core measures, facilitation of SJMCH Safety and Quality Improvement Committee and Pediatric Peer Review Committee meetings, promoting compliance with National Patient Safety Goals in pediatric settings, and other activities tied to improving patient outcomes. Exceptional oral and written communication skills required. Interacts frequently with Peds, PICU and NICU physician leaders, nurse leaders, quality management coworkers and SJM Children’s Hospital clinicians. Experience with large data sets, principles of clinical quality and patient safety, performance improvement methodology, and regulatory requirements required. Management experience preferred. Job Requirements

Required
RN license in the State of Missouri with 10 years of acute care nursing experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and proven leadership qualities. Ability to make and give presentations to a variety of co-workers, both physician, clinical and support staff. Experience with the principles of continuous quality improvement, patient safety and infection prevention. Ability to interpret regulatory guidelines. Knowledge of the internet, evidence based medicine, and analytical skills in Excel, Microsoft Access, and PowerPoint. Proven administrative skills in areas of planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating work that is to be done. Ability to act independently with minimal oversight, self-motivated. Preferred
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is strongly desired. Masters degree in related health care field preferred. mhj CB*E
