The Internal Communications Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of communication strategies and programs targeted to employees and other stakeholders. These strategies and programs will support achievement of global strategic Surgical Solutions goals and objectives. The Internal Communications Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating day-to-day efforts regarding employee communications and works closely with business leadership as well as Covidien corporate communications to provide up-to-date information in a timely manner. This position will develop, cascade, manage and execute the global business unit’s internal communications strategy, including the Intranet, social media, and employee relations campaigns. The communications goal is to generate greater Surgical Solution’s employee engagement internally by creating dynamic, compelling communications among all employee stakeholders through leadership messaging locally and globally.

  • Directing internal communications in to create and implement innovative communication programs that drive greater participation in volunteer events and enhance our reputation externally
  • Designing internal social media campaigns to generate excitement for and participation in Covidien’s work
  • Overseeing redesign and maintenance of the company’s Intranet sites
  • Bringing communications best practices from other organizations and industries to Covidien
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, Master’s degree helpful
  • 7-10 years relevant and qualified experience in communications, writing, or other related areas
  • 2 years managerial experience preferred
  • Expertise in project management
  • Worked with diverse cultures and corporate settings
  • Experience in international organizational environment
  • Experience in corporate communications at a global public company
  • Excellent writing competency
  • Ability to work with senior management on key initiatives with immediate deadlines
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and have strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to influencing others, process interpersonal awareness and have the ability to synthesize key complex messages
  • May require up to 15% travel
