Supervisor, Agent Validation
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Leads, motivates, coaches, and develops individuals within the team who are responsible for reviewing all contractual agreements and insurance department regulations, creating
and maintaining agent files, processing documentation submitted for new and cancelled agents, preparing legal agreements from established documents including assignment of commissions, associate for corporation agreements and corresponding amendments, bridging agreements, zero commission amendments, stock amendments and amended general agent agreements
Ensures that consistent and constructive feedback is provided to employees through performance evaluations and other means of communication; maintains employee personnel records in regard to performance and attendance; monitors progress of new employees and identifies training needs of new and experienced employees; recommends promotions and terminations of employees as approved by the department head; prepares monthly performance information for management review; participates in the interviewing/hiring process of applicants
Establishes guidelines for review and approves all daily transactions submitted for the Field Compensation department; establishes priorities and schedules daily work flow and assignments to ensure that quality standards, production goals, and deadlines are met; maintains operating logs and required transaction documentation; performs random audits on documents prepared and transactions processed to ensure that established guidelines and changes are communicated and practiced, and errors or rework are kept at a minimum; identifies opportunities for employee retraining and cross training
Communicates extensively with employees, field force (associates), and other administrative departments and external agencies to provide information and resolve issues; reviews complaints and inquiries to identify trends and makes recommendations for enhancing department services and/or programs; assists with the development and implementation of approved plans and the annual budget to support the achievement of department/division goals; leads and/or participates on projects and service teams necessary to support and improve existing processes and programs; maintains adequate control of resources to ensure ongoing operations of the department within established budget, productivity, and efficiency standards; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with customers and vendors to proactively address issues that may impact the quality and growth of the department’s business or result in costly penalties and fines from regulatory agencies
Performs other related duties as needed
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and four years of job-related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Three years in a leadership/senior/supervisory capacity
Job Knowledge & Skills
In-depth knowledge of the company’s procedures, policies, practices, and systems
Broad understanding of
human resources laws, regulations, policies and procedures, quality management tools, concepts/methodology, practices, and techniques
Strong objective, analytical skills with a high emphasis on quantitative analysis
Strong project planning and management skills to include cost-benefit analysis
Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively and negotiate with internal/external customers and senior management
