The qualified candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical work on tractor/trailer unit; thermo-king refrigeration units; converter dollies and performing preventative maintenance and repair on road fleet equipment. The qualified candidate must be certified to perform DOT annual inspections.
Hours of work will be Sunday-Wednesday nights 6:00 pm - 4:00 am. Must be able to work holidays and overtime as needed. Also have availability for on call.
Must have a minimum of 1 year mechanical experience with diesel truck engines or trailer refrigeration units in a fleet environment; Cab AC certification required; automotive electrical background; brake certification or ability to obtain; use of own tools required; ability to communicate with other departments; must be able to read and write English clearly and have basic computer skills; No more than two moving violations in the past 3 years; no more than one violation if serious (as defined by DOT); no DUI conviction in the past 3 years; meet all DOT requirements; lift up to 100 pounds, 60 pounds on a regular basis; flexible work hours; ability to work with little supervision and ability to perform other duties as assigned by management.
Must be able to obtain class A CDL and DOT physical card within six months of date of hire.
