The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Visual Information (VI) Specialist, for the 505
th
Training Squadron, an Air Combat Command unit at Hurlburt Field, FL, with responsibility for the original design, reduction, and display of a variety of visual materials for exhibits, and oral presentations.
·
In collaboration with management subject matter experts, and/or project officers, plans, organizes, and develops visual presentation material on a variety of projects.
Coordinates the design and development of complex, high-level multimedia products in collaboration with the editor, subject matter experts, and clients.
Directly supervises subordinates and assigns daily work task.
Advises and provides counsel to subordinates regarding policies, procedures and directives of management.

Acts as the focal point for visual information activities.
Defines and sets VI policy and management controls to ensure personnel use VI resources effectively and efficiently.
Monitors all VI activities and advises managers and customers on VI products, services, productions, resources, and funding.

Plans, schedules, and coordinates customer service requests.
Schedules video teleconference and the reservation of the Video Teleconferencing Center (VTC).
Serves as the focal point for all audio/visual equipment.

At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent.

(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-09 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.
The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

Knowledge of methods and procedures for operating a variety of computer systems and multimedia equipment in the production of presentations.

Ability to present subject matter information in a visual form to convey an intended message or to achieve a desired effect upon a specific audience.

Ability to communicate ideas concerning visual media while exercising tact and diplomacy.
5.
Knowledge of a wide variety of multi-media equipment to include preventive and emergency maintenance procedures.
6.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
