Sr. Linux System Administrator will be solely responsible for the administration of the company's high volume Internet based Linux platform infrastructure based on cutting edge technologies. The Sr. Linux System Administrator will support Linux Servers in a High Availability, High Internet Volume 24x7x365 environment. The Sr. Linux Sys Admin will monitor system activity and tune system parameters and configurations to optimize performance; monitor disk space and control usage and implement migration path to upgrade software and servers, create and manage user accounts and file directories, support rapid development and deployment projects, build and deploy automated tools and systems, use methodical troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues, create from scratch new scripts to automate various processes and have full responsibility for web systems monitoring and tuning/configuring for high availability and performance. If the candidate's skill set allows, they will be responsible for the basic administration of the MySQL databases, support of the SAN and design and implementation of a VMWare cluster and server deployment strategy.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Must have 3-10+ years of recent Linux system administration experience (preferably in a high volume, high availability, mission-critical 24x7x365, web serving Linux environment) To be considered, this experience needs to be detailed per project/employer on your resume.
  • Experience in larger ISP or large scale Internet environments preferred
  • Must be comfortable handling client interaction
  • Shell scripting experience
  • Must have solid experience with Apache web servers
  • Experience building, configuring, deploying, troubleshooting and tuning web server farms with Linux
  • Excellent methodology to troubleshoot various kinds of problems (network, hardware and operatingsystem related problems)
Beneficial Skills & Experience (Not Required)
  • BS and/or MS degree with a technical major such as engineering or computer science
  • Project management, security, and Linux certifications
  • Kernel level debugging and troubleshooting experience
  • Basic MySQL DBA experience
  • Any networking experience
  • Experience implementing server deployment strategy using kickstart and/or puppet
  • Perl scripting experience for automation and/or performance tuning
  • Experience in a Cloud Computing environment is a big plus
  • SAN/NAS Support
  • Experience in a Cloud Computing environment is a big plus
