QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold a Master of Social Work from a CSWE accredited institution and either a Ph.D. in social work or a doctoral degree in a related field. In addition, applicants must have expertise in child welfare and social policy as well as experience working in communities of color and doing research related to these communities. The doctorate must be completed by the effective date of the appointment. If the candidate has a M.S.W. degree, a Ph.D. in a related field will be considered if it includes social welfare theory, policy and practice and the applicant has experience (research, practice and/or teaching) in the area of child welfare. Preference is given to candidates with teaching experience at accredited M.S.W. degree granting institutions and with at least two years social work practice experience. Candidates should have demonstrated ability to teach, advise and mentor students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate a record of scholarly activity.
