The Product Marketing Manager has worldwide marketing accountability for Torch & Consumables (T&C) Manual products. They provide Marketing team leadership and development; drives product line strategy and management; manages market research, new product identification and requirements; guides and validates sales forecasting; creates marketing plan and budget; defines product positioning/messaging and supports global product promotion; oversees content of channel partner sales training; serves as primary point of contact for customer communication regarding all product and marketing issues.
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP: Collaborates across all sales regions and conducts research to lead product strategy, and identify and prioritize market opportunities for the T&C Manual business team product line.
Drives internal and external business partner and T/team member collaboration in developing short and mid range objectives, strategies and goals for the team while directing and allocating resources (i.e. associates, process and tools) to support key business initiatives and customers (locally and globally). Takes calculated risks to meet challenging goals in support of strategic initiatives.
Leverages leadership competencies and focuses on results to ensure team members support and are working towards execution of the team’s mission, operating plan and goals.
Works closely with other Business Teams to coordinate product and program strategies.
PRODUCT AND PROGRAM LEADERSHIP/OVERSIGHT: Develops and leads execution of product strategy to successfully launch new products and maintain leadership position in the marketplace.
Initiates new product development projects and leads the market readiness and launch of new products worldwide, following the M16 product development process.
Defines product positioning worldwide and manages brand development providing Hypertherm brand architecture oversight within the Marketing Steering Team.
Sets worldwide pricing and manages product margin
Guides and validates global forecasting for business team in collaboration with sales regions
Leads the marketing team in developing sales and marketing tools and programs as required to maximize product demand.
Coordinates marketing, packaging, and programmatic sales campaigns with the operations team to ensure adequate manufacturing capacity.
MARKET RESEARCH MANAGEMENT: Identifies and manages market research required for market understanding and situation analysis to identify market opportunities.
Manages thorough competitive research, including product benchmarking, to ensure clear differentiation in products from competitive offerings.
Synthesizes market research into meaningful and actionable analysis.
CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION: Serves as the managerial-level point of contact for the business team internally to other teams and externally to channel partners and end user customers regarding product and marketing issues.
Builds and maintains relationships with key customer groups to obtain market knowledge and information for product and program development.
Informs customers of product and service information, providing updates globally to enhance channel partner ability to sell Hypertherm product.
Requirements: BA/BS and 7 plus years of experience (MBA preferred)
